Shoukry

Mohamed Shoukry is a contemporary artist born in Cairo, Egypt in 1976 where he currently lives and works. Shoukry holds PhD From Faculty of Applied Arts in "Video Sculpture". He exhibited in various international art venues including Galerie der Kunstler, Munich, Germany 2017, Sharjah Art Museum, Sharjah, Emirates, 2016 DAK'ART 2014 - 11eme Biennale de l'Art African, Dakar, Senegal - F+F Schule fur Kunst und Mediendesign, Zurich, Switzerland / Haslla museum, Gangneung, South Korea / Kunstverien, Aschafenburg Germany - Open City Exhibition, Teramo Italy / Artist Village Exhibition, Taipei, Taiwan. Shoukry was awarded several times including the Fulbright fellowship in New York 2014, salon of youth third prize, Cairo 2005 and first prize in Talaa exhibition three consecutive years, Cairo 1999-2001. He was granted several artist in residence program, Prohelvetia, Zurich 2011 / Haslla Museum, south Korea 2011 and Triangle Trust, Taiwan in 2004. He participated in a lot of workshops either internationally or nationally, also he held several workshops in Goethe Institute Cairo. Shoukry participated regularly in most of the national art events in Egypt since 1996. His work is in public and private collections including Haslla museum, Gangnueung, South Korea and The Contemporary Art Museum, Cairo, Egypt. His works has been featured in several publications including Frieze Magazine, Nafas Magazine, Egypt Today, Al Bait Magazine, Papyrus Magazine.
